For thousands of years, dogs have been faithful companions. They are considered to be a person’s best friend. Thanks to their exceptional abilities, dogs are greatly appreciated by a lot of people and very popular. Hardly any other pet lives and works so closely with humans.

Short, long, or fuzzy fur – dogs come in a wide variety of sizes and colors. However, the purpose of each breed is more important than its appearance. Over the years, breeds have been specialized for different purposes – to protect the house, drive cattle, or hunt. Therefore, the uses of a dog were and are diverse. Depending on the original use of its breed(s), a dog shows different characteristics. When keeping and raising a dog, one needs to take this into account.
